Haiku

I.
Red and yellow leaves
Fall slowly from barren trees,
Revealing winter.

II.
Cold fear, brusque unease,
The quiet disquietude:
That which is to come.

III.
The depths of winter,
Howling wind, blustering snow —
And then: all is still.
